A small cube sits atop a 3-bar steel fireplace grate in a brick chimney. The black soot over the bricks creates various subtle gray tones reminiscent of a Helen Frankenthaler painting. Rich texture covers the surface of the black box. Beeswax with crushed flower petals have accumulated over the surface creating a gritty texture. Quiet hints of blue flower petals create eye-catching shine. A tear on one side of the box reveals a colorful drawing using hot pinks, fluorescent oranges, electric yellows and cyan. The wrinkled top of the box is sewn shut and camouflaged with a black cord.
